Buckner Launches Estate Planning Practice
SUNRISE, Florida, July 13, 2015—Buckner, a global-focused sports and education law firm with a litigation niche, has expanded its legal services with the launch of an estate planning practice. Buckner’s new practice assists clients with one of the most important, and often overlooked, issues for individuals, couples and families: estate planning. An estate plan is used to design a family's financial future; to identify instructions for handling a person’s estate; to designate a guardian for a person’s children; and to address any other issues regarding a person’s estate.
Buckner’s goal in launching the practice is to provide clients with a simple and efficient solution for estate planning needs, including preparing a simple will and drafting a trust. The firm’s objective is to offer clients accurate, efficient and cost-effective legal services.
Buckner’s new practice will provide estate planning clients with value-added services. For example, for a reasonable flat fee, clients purchasing a will-package will receive a will and testament (which is customized for the client’s state of residence) and complimentary estate planning resources, including: a power of attorney; healthcare documents (e.g., health care surrogate or advanced directive); burial instructions; a survivor’s checklist; and a death notification checklist. The documents are presented in an estate planning presentation binder, which ensures a client’s estate planning documents are organized and can be easily stored and accessible.
In conjunction with the launch of the estate planning practice, Buckner will:
• Publish an educational blog post every Wednesday on estate planning topics.
According to Michael Buckner, Buckner shareholder and president, the firm’s new estate planning practice "is a logical expansion on what we do. Our new practice formalizes the legal advice we have always provided existing sports, education and litigation clients, who sought assistance on various estate planning issues. We are excited about helping others with developing an estate plan."
